We then enjoyed about an hour of hide and seek in the park. Two counters, three hiders. The first two to be found get to be the counters next. The kids loved all the space and new hiding spaces, very different from playing at home. At our last round of Hide and Seek the kids found this::
And so that began our hike, the part of our day at the park the kids liked most. It is hard to see, but beyond this "fort like structure is a 30ish foot fall- a hiking trail. Beyond the trail (FAR below) is railroad tacks and
This was the other side and down below the wall the kids were at on the above picture. We were in search of the lake, certainly dressed for this hiking occasion-- or not!
We tried to reach the lake and the railroad tracks, but after quite a hike it became evident there was either no path to the lake, or the trail we were on wasn't the one that led there or the "off road" trail (that we weren't supposed to be hiking) we attempted became too dangerous, especially considering our wardrobe, so we had to abandon our mission.

We had a great time at the park, got some great pictures and made some great memories together
