Five and Alive

Yes Five and So very full of life is our Miss Jayla.... even if her birthday blog wasn't (yet)
We started parting with her final night of four.  She told me she wanted a pink cake with pink icing, so that is what she helped me make!
Our little girl's final day of four doing one of her favorite things, baking!
On her birthday we had a small at home party, just 7 of the 8 of us, since her daddy had to work,  Jayna left before the second craft for church though.
Jayla and Marko being silly together <3  She truly was such a joy to have in our home for 5 months and she forced Marko to become a bit more tender and down to a little one's level than he has been maybe ever...
Yes in this house lighting candles with a torch is quite normal! It was so funny watching her with the magic relight candles.  Jayna is forever climbing the doorways and Jayla has wanted to follow suite forever... so she declared that she was 5 and she is big enough now... and does that smile speak volumes or what?
Making a paper mache pig as one of two crafts--- the other was Snoopy sun catchers.  The week before her birthday her bell on her bike broke.  She had told me a few times she wanted another one, so the happiness in the most simple of gifts is clear.  She got her bike bell!

The following weekend we had her birthday party at McDonald's with a handful of friends!  Wendy and her 4 joined, Heather and Isaiah came, her Uncle Craig and then our other 3 kids, and her mommy and daddy of course.  It was simple, fun a nice time for her to catch up with her best buddy Isaiah.  And the biggest blessing of all, her parents didn't have to deal with the financial burden or the disappointment of not being able to afford birthday gifts, as Jayla was gifted an overwhelming number of gifts from our church friends.  They don't have a clue what a big deal this was.  Jayla's world had really been turned upside down and twirled here and there over the past year so I truly appreciate that she was able to have an over the top Christmas and Birthday after quite a year.
Jayla wanted a My Little Pony Party, so here is the cake I made her
Jayla's big gift from us were Cabbage Patch Twins w/ stroller.  I have a job to carry on a tradition of doll baby loving kids, and my doll loving began with CBK dolls.

Ironically she got another Cabbage Patch set for her birthday.  She was already playing with her babies when we got home from the party.  What a fun week of celebrating it was.
