Social Studies Fair

The kids were a part of the school wide social studies fair on March 13th.  It was quite a neat event for "first timers" like us.  Then again, I always loved school projects so was excited t help Ant-man learn all about my home state of Pennsylvania as he reluctantly did his PA project.  Woohoo my 3rd time getting to help the kids with larger school projects (Martin Luther King w/ ANt in 2nd grade and Flat Stanley w/ Jayna last year and now this!).  It did require bribing, but so worth it.  Yes mean mom did make her kids favorite meal on Wed night to force him to hurry it up and finish his project before he was allowed to have supper.... or else he may very well still be sloooowly writing captions still today. Seriously!  Finally after weeks of time to do this project he finished after 10pm on the 12th.  Apparently unlike my love of projects he was blessed with my ability to procrastinate.  Luckily I am talented and able to do that well still ;-)
Every class was assigned a country.  Ages 3rd grade and up did an individual project on their country.  3rd and 4th grade had the USA and each student was assigned a state.  Jayna's class did England with most their focus on London.  PreK did Antartica.  Kindergarten did Ireland.  5th and 6th grade did Midevil times.  7th and 8th did Poland.  The night began with a short program from each class.  Both the Grandma's and Anthony's best buddy Alonza got to join us for the festivities and even Daddy (Marko) made it before it ended, which with his schedule most nights is impressive :-)  Enjoy the tour from my pathetic picture taking skills of a very fun night!

Penguins from Antartica sang us two cute songs!

This one was sooo funny.  This is NOT my video, but it is the song that played while the 5th and 6th graders did their skit on it
